For the week ending March 19, mortgage applications were mixed, according to Courtney Schlisserman of Bloomberg News. Refinance applications were down 7.1% for the week, although purchase loan applications were up 2.7%. The overall average was down by 7.1%
Brian Louis (also from Bloomberg) said that rates ending March 18 rose to 4.99 percent on a 30 year fixed, up from 4.96 percent the week before according to a statement released by Freddie Mac. The average on a 15 year fixed was 4.34 percent.
UPDATE: The auction for 10yr Treasuries was STELLAR!! This will be good news for rates. Per CNBC:
